now - a heat pump vs an ac unit - i agree - it basically the same thing with a reverse clutch and a few other pieces.

and you simply cannot disagree with heat pump efficiency under 45f. they will not generate enough heat as a stand alone unit without a source of 'back up' or auxiliary heat.

this thread jumped off the title topic long ago. your comment was so out of left field to the recent discussion (while being the most title specific) it broke out brains a little.

no one that i recall has suggested removing the ptc when adding the heat pump feature.
